The Honourable Jim Reiter is the Saskatchewan Minister of Health Jim Reiter was first elected as the MLA for Rosetown-Elrose in the 2007 provincial election and was re-elected in 2011. Professionally, Jim has extensive experience in municipal governance. He was the long-time administrator for the Rural Municipalities of Marriott and Pleasant Valley. He has served as Director, Vice-President, and President of the Rural Municipal Administrators' Association (RMAA), as well as Executive Director. Among his educational accomplishments is a Senior Certificate in Local Government Administration from the University of Regina. He also served six years on the U of R Senate. Jim has served his community as a Justice of the Peace and Marriage Commissioner.
Ron Parker is an enterprise architect, systems-thinker and entrepreneur with 32 years of experience as a contributor to integration and interoperable systems in the Canadian health and social services sectors. His objectives are to promote the effective use of ICT in transforming health and care processes. He has various senior roles with Canada Health Infoway and is currently responsible for the development of the baseline information architecture, standards, and privacy and security products that are used to guide and evaluate Infoway investments.
Dr. Dennis Kendall served as Registrar of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan from 1986 to 2011 and CEO of the Physician Recruitment Agency of Saskatchewan from 2014 – 2016. Since 2011 he has had numerous engagements across Western Canada consulting on quality improvement, performance and redesign of the health system. His most recent engagement was a leader for the Saskatchewan Advisory Panel on Health System Structure issued in December 2016.
Brian Ferguson is Managing Partner, Area Labs, San Diego, CA. Brian served as a Officer in the Navy SEAL Teams where, besides his contributions at a tactical level in special operations, worked with senior leaders on understanding the impact of accelerating technology on the modern battlefield,. He built and directed the first innovation cell in Naval Special Operation, focusing on human performance and emerging technology. For the past 15 years he has been working in high-performance organizations where he has trained leaders and decision-makers to understand how to build adaptive, flexible organizations in today’s fast-paced environment. Brian hold an MSc from the London School of Economics.
Dr. Preston Smith, Dean - College of Medicine- University of Saskatchewan
Dr. Preston Smith has been Dean, College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan since June2014. Prior to coming to Saskatoon he was Senior Associate Dean of Rural Medical Education at Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Medicine. Since his arrival, he has invested considerable time and energy to implement 'The Way Forward', and to establish a reconceptualized model for biomedical sciences to become one of the great Canadian medical schools creating new knowledge – including internationally recognized research as well as research in areas important to our communities and our province; and improving health outcomes for the people of Saskatchewan – through collegial, collaborative and effective partnerships with the Regional Health Authorities and throughout our provincial healthcare system.
Dan Gordon is Innovation Lead in the IBM GBS Global Healthcare and Life Sciences Centre of Competence, a worldwide team of senior subject matter experts who assist global policy makers and healthcare delivery organizations improve outcomes, efficiency and effectiveness.
Dr Gordon is a results driven business leader with senior management, business development and service delivery experience. Dan has extensive knowledge and expertise in the areas of Healthcare business, Health Information Technology, Telehealth, Health Services planning and Health Analytics.
